Recent Acne Scar Treatments

What is the difference between MLA scar treatment and conventional laser?

  • Comparing MLA scar treatment with conventional scar treatment lasers, existing scar treatment equipment, whether ablative or non-ablative, causes thermal damage to the surrounding area. Such tissue thermal damage is not the originally expected effect.
  • In case of severe heat damage, side effects such as skin flushing and skin sensitivity may occur. It is also a side effect of the Fraxel type laser that often occurs.
  • In addition, this thermal damage causes a recovery period, that is, downtime. In the case of an ablation laser, a recovery period of 2 to 4 weeks or more is required, and in the case of a non-ablative laser, a recovery period of about 1 to 2 weeks is usually required.
  • In contrast, MLA scar treatment has a relatively short recovery period. Usually, after a few days, the scars on the skin will be alleviated. As such, there is no thermal damage to the tissue, so there are relatively few side effects and the recovery period is fast.
